Week 9 (21-22) : Electronic Access

21.e-books - This was very easy to access and read. The problem is reading a book at your computer. It was nice change.

22.SkillPort - This is probably the best place to get training. It is self-paced and has handouts and this is a great tool for training. The worst part would be to log in and if you do not read the directions (like I have done many times) you will not be able to get in. I rate this five stars.

Week 8 (20) : Custom Desktop

20. Search Plug-ins for Internet Explorer & Firefox - This was simple to do and I like the way you enter a search topic and then change search engines but do not have to re-type.

Week 8 (19) : Custom Desktop

19. Firefox & Firefox Add ons - I added Delicious bookmarks and it was not useful. It cluttered up my space.

Week 8 (18) Custom Desktop

18. iGoogle - Customizing my desktop was fun and easy. I changed the theme added, moved and deleted gadgets. I also added Newsfeeds and changed the layout. I think this is a productivity enchancer. It is always nice to customize a page to be more user friendly to you, making your work easier.

Week 6 (17) Tagging

17. LibraryThing - I thought this was fun.

Week 7 (16) : Tagging & Delicious

16. Delicious - I signed up (again) imported my my favorites and now I have bookmarks. This was a little difficult to understand and unless you had opened two browsers or copied the directions you do not realize what you do until the deed is done. I don't think I would have added my favorites, it will take time to undo what I did.

I also labeled my entry for Facebook.

Week 6 (15) : Podcasts & Videos

15. Podcasts - I listened to a podcast from Podcast.com and found an intersting podcast. It was about Library services for Alumni. I added the RSS feed and I thought maybe we could do this for our Library.

14. Screencasting using Camtasia - I actually made a "Plan a Meeting" video in Camtasia but it would not download properly. If you have Camtasia and would like to see it, just email me and I will send you a copy.

Week 5 (12) : Social Networking

12. Twitter - This was interesting, I set up a Twitter account and I am following 20 people, sent a message (What are you doing right now) and then went to Tweetdeck. I tried to download the software and got an error message. My user name is CMbuzzard.

I had an email from a Twitter follower and thought I would share. This could also be on my YouTube enty. You should take a look, it is a hoot.

Week 5 (11) : Social Networking

11. Chat/IM - I set up a gmail account and played around with the chat box. I added a buddy and then clicked somewhere where it said set up a screen name. I did that (Grand11buzzard) and ended up making an AOL account in AIM Dashboard. This was very confusing so now I know I set up 2 accounts, one in Gmail and one in AOL. After all this I went back to Gmail and sent a buddy a message. This is one example of being on one page and led to another.

Week 5 (10) : Social Networking

10 Facebook - I am never sure I want to add information to anything. I will say this was a lot easier then some of the 23 Things. I did invite a few friends and that was fairly simple.

I added a Twitter and Teachers : A Mini Workshop by e-Teaching Courses and Workshops to my page.

Week 2 (4) : Photos & Images

4. Create an Avatar - As you can see by my avatar, I look nothing like her and that is the best part. Folks can view me as a cool avatar.
